Easter Activities in the New Forest

If you’re looking for ways to entertain your little ones this Easter, here are a selection of events and activities happening in and around the New Forest.

Longdown Farm Easter Trails

Longdown Farm, Ashurst, Friday 30th March, Saturday 31st March,
Sunday 1st April & Monday 2nd April

Surely the best place to celebrate Easter is on a farm, surrounded by chicks, bunnies and other animals? Children love a visit to Longdown Farm at the best of times, so throwing in an Easter egg hunt makes the whole experience extra special. Normal entry fee applies.

Children’s Easter Craft Workshops

The New Forest Centre, Lyndhurst, Saturday 31 March, 10am – 2pm.

Let your creative Easter bunnies enjoy a variety of crafts at the New Forest Centre in Lyndhurst. This is a relatively cheap day out, activities cost £1 each if prebooked or £1.50 on the day.

Canoe Easter Egg Hunt

New Forest Activities, Beaulieu , Saturday 31st March 13:30 – 15:30; Sunday 1st April 13:30 – 15:30; Monday 2nd April 13:30 – 15:30

A new take on the traditional Easter egg hunt… First, take in the beautiful New Forest landscape while canoeing along the Beaulieu River, before returning to dry land for an Easter Egg hunt. Adult £28, child £22 or family £88.

Forest Fables and Seaside Stories

Forest Arts Centre, New Milton, Sunday 8th April

Take part in the fun and games with Bearface Theatre, as they take you on a journey into the forest, the beach and under the sea. Cost £4 per adult and £4 per child.

Paddington Creative Camp

Forest Arts Centre, New Milton, Thursday 12th April, 1.30 – 4.30 pm

Enjoy an entire afternoon of creative fun at the Forest Arts Centre.  Children can create a pop-up book, join in a creative treasure hunt and help make a giant Paddington Bear. £14 for first child, £11 per additional child.

St Barbe Museum, Lymington, 30th March – 15th April

Explore the museum, while hunting for the hidden eggs. When completed, children can collect a prize from the front desk.

Nature Detectives

Beaulieu, Friday 30th March – Sunday 15th April

Over the Easter holidays, visitors to Beaulieu will be asked to become nature detectives! This involves completing a series of activities on an Easter themed trail and plenty more besides.

Easter Egg Trail

Avon Heath Country Park, Thursday 29 March – Sunday 15 April

Search this beautiful country park for clues and return from a chocolate egg prize. Costs £3 per trail sheet.

Other events are also taking place at the park over Easter, including pottery, ladybird box building, orienteering and meet a bird of prey (various times and prices, see link below for details).
