Life in the New Forest is extremely laid-back and tourists soon realise that sightseeing is as much about soaking up natural beauty as it is about museums and galleries. Days spent here consist of sharing striking forest views with wild ponies and exploring dramatic coastlines, where sandy bays nestle between towering rock formations.
For the more adventurous, the New Forest can be explored on bike or horseback. Water sports are widely available for those who wish to discover the coastline from a paddle board, surf board or sailing boat. If you prefer sightseeing in comfort, the open top bus tour will guide you through it with ease.
There is a plethora of sights at your fingertips when you visit Hampshire’s not-so-hidden gem. Families, couples and adventurers alike will fall in love with the New Forest’s signature wildlife of roaming ponies and cows, while exploring dense woodland, quaint quayside towns and rugged heathland.
We moved to the New Forest almost three years ago and have never looked back. I created this blog to celebrate my home and to give others some ideas and inspiration for their New Forest visit.
